Introduction

The riverbanks of Gangnam's streams are these days uniformly blessed with well-maintained walking paths. The Yangjaecheon path cutting through Dogok-dong and Gaepo-dong and connecting to Tancheon is particularly beloved. The path's dual-level design — two walkways at different heights — adds an enjoyable twist. Tancheon, fully embracing Yangjaecheon's waters, flows roughly 2 more km before reaching the Han River. Designated as a Seoul ecological landscape conservation area, Tancheon is also a sanctuary for resident birds like the Little Grebe and Brambling, as well as migratory species.
